Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email, account credentials), videos and images you upload for processing, and standard server logs. These logs include your IP address, your browser and device type, technical details of how your browser connects to our site, and the pages you visit. When you buy, you enter your card in a secure payment window run by our payment provider, which collects your card number, security code, and any billing address it asks for to verify your card. We receive from it only the card brand and the last four digits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the service, process your video uploads and generate inventory reports, communicate with you about your account, and comply with legal obligations. We also use our server logs to keep the site secure and to count how many people visit it, as a total.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your videos and inventory data are stored in encrypted form on secure infrastructure located in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. You are responsible for recording and keeping your own original footage; we process a copy and never return the original, and we do not maintain your footage under a legal hold or in immutable long-term storage on your behalf.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (cloud infrastructure, AI processing, payment processing) and when required by law.

5. Your Rights

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@disasterinventory.com. Your uploaded video stays available for your whole access period, so you can review it and capture any item the AI missed. It is removed the day after your access period ends, and once removed it cannot be brought back. We keep a copy of your finished inventory (the spreadsheet and the PDF) for about 150 days after your access period ends, and then delete it. Please download and keep your own copy before your access period ends, somewhere safe, away from your home. We keep a record of your payment (the card brand and the last four digits of your card) for about 180 days after your purchase, and security and access logs for about 12 months. We keep a basic record of your purchase (what you bought, when, and how much you paid) for about 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete it, except for the records described in this section that we keep for tax, accounting, or security reasons.

6. Cookies, Local Storage, and Your Choices

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not load tracking scripts.

If you sign in, we set one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. No script on the page can read it. Our sign-in service may also set necessary cookies of its own while you sign in.

We also keep a few non-sensitive settings in your browser’s storage, such as your light or dark theme, your selected property, an upload in progress, and short-lived values that keep sign-in secure. We never use them for advertising.

If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy first, and they will stay off until you turn them on.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
